NAMES THAT STAND OUT IN THE 56TH PRESIDENTIAL CYCLING TOUR OF TURKEY

PIERRE ROLLAND, THE RIDER OF B&B HOTELS TEAM SAID, "WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED BUT A LOT IS GOING ON”

Pierre Rolland, currently riding for B&B Hotels, one of the stars of the French Tour said, “This is the first time I am in Turkey, I was hoping that the weather would be warmer but I am happy to be competing here, this is a suitable race for me to put my legs on shape again. Previously, I only participated in two daily flat terrain races in France. I don’t know about the fitness of other cyclists, but I cannot figure out where I stand right now. Our General Classification cyclist Quentin Pacher is on the 5th stage and he is better than me in sprint finishes, while I feel myself luckier in climbs and rough slopes which I believe to be more exhausting and wearisome,” in the 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey.

LET’S HEAR FROM JASPER PHILIPSEN

Belgian Jasper Philipsen from Alpecin-Fenix team, having outstripped Sam Bennett and Mark Cavendish on Wednesday in Scheldeprijs race in Belgium, is one of the sprinters who is still in good shape. “I agreed to cycle in Tour of Turkey at the eleventh hour, as I am very much in shape right now. I believe that I don’t need a rest, later I will take a break. But now I am here to win,” he said. “Deceuninck-Quick Step is undoubtedly the strongest team in sprint legs, but we will try to outperform them with the help our colleagues. Israel Start-Up team is also strong,” he added.
