MARK CAVENDISH RETRIEVED THE BANANAS HE HAD MISSED SO MUCH
British sprinter Mark Cavendish, the winner of 212.6 kilometers-long Beyşehir-Alanya stage of the 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey which is supported by Home Turkey said, “We will keep winning” and added the following:
“MY TEAMMATES DID AN EXTRAORDINARY JOB"
“My team tried to push me forward. There was a very strong sideway wind coming from the right. My teammates did an extraordinary job. I started the race with a lot more confidence when compared to previous years. We came here to win as much sprints as possible.”
CAVENDISH RETRIEVED THE BANANAS HE HAD MISSED SO MUCH
Cavendish said that he couldn’t forget about the bananas he got on podium years ago in Alanya before the kick-off of the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey. “I fulfilled another dream. I had missed these bananas, I retrieved them,” he said.
HE HAS BOTH JERSEYS
Having won his ninth stage in Turkey, Mark Cavendish is leading General Classification after the first three stage, will wear Turquoise which is sponsored by Spor-Toto. He also has the green jersey sponsored by Salcano.
Vitaly Buts from Salcano Sakarya team will wear the red jersey. Artyom Zakharov from Astana team will wear the Turkish Beauties Jersey sponsored by Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency.
GOVERNOR YAZICI AND KUCUKBAKIRCI GAVE THE TROPHIES
The Award Ceremony of the 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey’s third leg took place at Alanya Cumhuriyet Square under the sponsorship of Home Turkey with coronavirus measures. Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel also participated in the ceremony in which award-winning cyclists received their trophies from Antalya Governor Ersin Yazıcı and the President of the Cycling Federation Erol Küçükbakırcı.
