THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AND SPORTS DR. MEHMET MUHARREM KASAPOGLU MADE A SPEECH IN THE 56TH PRESIDENTIAL CYCLING TOUR OF TURKEY

“WE RAISE THE BAR EACH DAY”

Making a speech in the award ceremony of the first leg of the 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, 72.4 km. Spor Toto Konya – Konya, the minister of Youth of Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kaspoğlu said, “This year, we organize the 56th of our Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey by taking all precautions under the pandemic conditions. It is, as you all know, the only race which has been going on for so long under the auspices of the Presidency. It is indeed a very valuable organization which both introduces beautiful corners of our country and our heavenly homeland and contributes to the promotion of the cycling sport. Our country organizes an even more successful event with every passing year.”

“WE MAKE SERIOUS INVESTMENTS IN CYCLING”

Kasapoglu reminded that the tour in Cappadocia was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. “The first leg was moved to Konya due to snowfall. We make a serious investment in cycling to make it a mainstream sport. Our 19 years of sports revolution includes various sports branches. The objectives and vision set out by our President since the time he was a mayor and the achievements we have had in time point towards a revolution. We raise the bar in every branch. We don’t believe that sports only include a few branches. And we make it clear in our actions and not just words,” he said.

HE THANKED KONYA RESIDENTS

Having stated that they “established new teams to promote cycling,” “Kasapoğlu said, “The work of these teams will bring forward more success. We paced our activities with each passing day to promote environment-friendly cycling to become a favorite sport’s branch for our young people. Our young people will represent us in the future as the champions of today and tomorrow. Our ambition in sports is to win international championship in Olympics and make 84 millions of people proud and happy. We thank dear residents of Konya. They have proven to be good hosts. They will also be hosting the Islamic Games.”
